  • Drop-in Open Studio Sessions are for individuals who already have some experience in clay and can work without direction or help. There is always a Studio Monitor on duty, but there is no instruction available.
  • Drop-in Sessions are available during our open hours only. Our hours are subject to change, so please check our calendar before dropping in to make sure we're open.

  • Drop-in Sessions are only available during our open hours. They are not available during class times, overnight, or if the Clay Center is closed for any other reason.
  • Drop-in Sessions do not include clay or tools, but these items can be purchased in our online shop and then picked up when you arrive.
    • If you want to bring in your own clay, please email us the clay body's manufacturer, name, and product code before heading into the studio. For example: Alligator Clay, Red Star, MC292. Clay bodies brought in must be rated for firing to cones 5-6 (mid-range).
    • Drop-in studio users are welcome to use our studio glazes, or you can also bring in your own glazes. Glazes brought in must be rated for firing to cones 5-6 (mid-range).
    • To prevent contamination and accidental meltdowns, low-fire clay and glazes (cones 06-04) may not be used in the Clay Center studio.
