drop-in OPEN STUDIO

Open Studio Drop-In ($25 per 4-hour session)
  • Need to extrude some stuff, glaze some pots, or use a slab roller? For just $25, you can drop in for up to 4 hours of Open Studio time!
  • Just like regular Open Studio, drop-in sessions are for individuals who already have some experience in clay and can work without direction or help. There is always a Studio Monitor on duty, but there is no instruction available.

Drop-in sessions available:
  • 9 am - 1 pm every day except Thursdays
  • 1 - 5 pm every day except Thursdays
  • Check our calendar before dropping in, just to make sure we're open when you want to come in!

Good to know
  • Drop-in sessions do not need to be scheduled in advance, but they are only available during our open hours. They are not available during class times, overnight, or if the Clay Center is closed for any other reason.
  • When you drop in, just ask for the Studio Monitor on duty. They'll ring you up on the spot and can also help you buy clay if needed, or take in your pieces for drop-off firing.
  • Drop-in sessions do not include storage, clay, or firing of work:
    • Drop-in studio users are welcome to use our drop-off firing service.
    • Clay is available for purchase onsite, or you can bring in your own.
    • Drop-in studio users are welcome to use our studio glazes, or you can bring in your own.
    • Clay or glazes brought in must be rated for firing to cones 5-6 (mid-range).
    • To prevent contamination and accidental meltdowns, low-fire clay and glazes (cones 06-04) may not be used in the Clay Center studio.
