As a nonprofit organization, the Clay Center of New Orleans will be financially supported by a combination of earned and contributed revenue:
  • Earned revenue will come from tuition for classes and workshops, application fees for exhibitions and residencies, summer camp fees, Resident Artist studio rent, open studio memberships, supply shop sales and sales of consigned pottery and artwork from the Sales Gallery.
  • Contributed revenue will come from individual donations and major gifts, foundation grants, government grants, corporate sponsorship and special events. In keeping with the Internal Revenue Service’s definition of a public charity, the Clay Center will obtain at least one-third of its gross income from contributions.
